2. BARRY IS RUNNING FOR CONGRESS
I have filed as a Libertarian candidate for U.S. Congress District 31 in Texas. My platform will include:
CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM WITH EMPHASIS ON ENDING THE WAR ON DRUGS.
We currently spend 30 billion dollars per year arresting over 1 million citizens for drug crimes. Even the DEA admits they have more people in jail for drugs than ever before yet more drugs are available than ever before at a cheaper price and higher potency. The War on Drugs is a failed policy. We currently incarcerate 1 out of every 100 Americans making our country the leader in the world in locking up its citizens. 1 out of every 10 black males are in jail and 1 out of every 30 males between the ages of 20 and 34 are locked up. Prison stock is now publicly traded based on the number of prisoners. It is clear America has gone overboard in terms of its criminal justice system.
FAMILY COURT REFORM.
Their is no sense of fairness during a divorce especially for men. It is clear the courts have leaned in favor of woman causing a pervading reverse sexism in family court. I love woman. My mom and wife are both women. I'm raising two daughters. I think woman are the most dynamic and wonderful beings on Earth so my efforts to reverse the sexism in our family courts has to do with fairness not chauvinism. I will also fight to end laws that allow judges to jail men and woman for child non-support. American cages were intended to house the violent and were never intended to collect money.
PUBLIC SCHOOL REFORM:
Because the United States of America ranks 42cnd in the world in terms of literacy. We are losing 6500 kids per day who are dropping out of school. The fault does not lie with our children but with us. Our kids are not crazy but our public schools are. Your federal government (who according to the constitution is not suppose to regulate public schools) feeds our children the cheapest and some of the worst food available. For lunch our children get a carton of syrup called chocolate milk, a spoon full of box mashed potatoes and a corn dog.
Both of my parents are public school teachers of 20 years and often complain of having to teach students how to pass a federally mandated test in return for Federal monies. Teaching a test is not the same as educating our youth. Both of my daughters ages 15 and 12 were recently kicked out of public school because of the red highlights placed in their hair from a licensed beautician. Both of my daughters were strait "A" student with zero disciplinary problems. We now teach them at home. Mark Penn, author of New York Times best seller, MicroTrends, reports one of the fastest growing groups in America are home schoolers. Parents are beginning to realized our public schools have turned into government schools.
3. INVESTORS ANNOUNCED
My last Newsletter asked for investors to finish NeverGetRaided and to start "50/50." Many of you responded so we took the "first come, first serve approach." Jason Osborne became the Executive Producer of NeverGetRaided and Gary Regec Jr. became the Executive Producer of "50/50." Thanks Jason and Gary for believing in NeverGetBusted!!! 4. MOTORIST FREE AFTER JUDGE RULES BAD K-9 TACTICS
My testimony in 321st District Court regarding a drug dog that false alerted, resulted in the judge suppressing the evidence because it took too long for the K-9 to arrive at the scene. The motorist walked free as he should have. This means the courts have recognized police cannot hold a motorist beyond a reasonable amount of time with reasonable suspicions only. In other words, cops cannot pull you over and just because they suspect you are carrying marijuana, block your freedom to leave and continue your everyday business. Courts do not allow this because if cops were allowed to behave in this manner, then I could call in an anonymous tip (reasonable suspicion) on my enemy, have the cops pull them over and detain them for hours.
It took about 45 minutes for the K-9 to arrive on this case. Courts have not specified a certain time limit. They look at all the factors and then consider if the detainment was too long. The judge never commented on the false alert. The first judge who has the courage needed to rule a false alert will open the doors to a much need Supreme Court reevaluation of K-9's. NeverGetBusted's goal is to cause this reevaluation and then testify K-9's should never be used to obtain probable cause but solely to assist in locating narcotics. I use to train the K-9's and I know their are too many ways for officers to circumvent the 4th Amendment with very little scrutiny in regards to K-9 alerts. I have since been hired and am currently working three other K-9 cases. One case involves a 56 year old veterinarian with an obvious nervous disorder stopped by Texas DPS in the Houston Area. The vet refused consent, the cops handcuffed him and called for the K-9. The K-9 false alerted, the cops searched and found nothing. The motorist had been screaming in agony in the back of the patrol car for an hour. Upon releasing him, it was discovered permanent damage was caused to his arm because of the handcuffs. He is suing the police in Federal Court. I am an expert witness against the police in this case.
5. THE 50/50 PROJECT
The 50/50 project, is still moving forward. The idea of comparing 50 people drunk to 50 people high on marijuana seems to be sparking more interest in Hollywood. I am currently working with a producer in Los Angeles to bring this film to its fullest potential. We are moving a bit slower than expected because we are making certain 50/50
is an "A" film.
6. CANNABIS CULTURE MAGAZINE
Canadians Marc and Jodie Emery, owners of Cannabis Culture Magazine (sold next to HighTimes), can easily be considered the role models for activists and patriots around the world. Their efforts to reforms U.S. drug laws are unmatched as they tirelessly continue writing, speaking, filming and donating their money to end our nation's War on Drugs. Mr. Emery, along with two other Canadians, is DEA's most wanted for selling marijuana seeds on line to American customers. The Canadian Courts have determined adequate punishment for selling seeds can only be a $200 fine with no jail time while our country's State Laws consider seeds a misdemeanor. Unfortunately, the government's appetite for pot arrests (830,000 Americans arrested for pot in 2006) is not satisfied by incarcerating our own countrymen and women but now they are reaching their arm into Canada and arresting heroes from another country. You must watch the newly released film cataloging DEA's current gangster efforts to extradite three wonderful people and place them in jail for life. 7. NEVERGETBUSTED TIP
A "knock and talk" or "tap and wrap" encounter where the police knock on your door and ask for permission to search your house can easily be countered. My largest "knock and talk" bust was 230 lbs of marijuana.
If the suspect opened the door to speak with me and refused to give consent, I would simply state I smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the home and search the house. My email box is full of citizens getting busted after failing to counter this manipulative police tactic. To counter this measure, NEVER OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE POLICE. Simply yell through a locked window or door for the officer to have the dispatcher call your phone for a discussion. If the police had a right to be in your house, they would not be knocking. They would be kicking. Citizens are under no legal obligation to invite uniformed strangers into their house. If the door is never opened, the police cannot claim they smell marijuana. This counter measure works 100% of the time.
